Kerbal Space Program: Goals

Design a space station:

The initial design should be nothing more than a basic fuel depot with solar panels and a drone and some SAS for torque maneuvers.  Eventually this can be expanded to include the lab processor to make the space station a hub for the lander to meet up with on science missions.

Design an interstellar traveler:

The thing about this ship, is that it will probably need to be put together in space.  This can be done with either the advanced grabbing arm, or with docking ports.  Personally I think that docking ports should be used so that I am able to predict the center of mass for thrust, but I am not entirely sure it matters if my ship is a tug design.

Design a rover:

The thing about rovers are that they need to last a long time.  It is very difficult to get them up there, so if a part falls of while driving around, I don't want to have to send up an entire new rover.  The design must consider robustness

Design a lander:

This ship will need to take into consideration the science modules I will require.  The design will need to be light to minimize fuel consumption.  A design consideration is that it is easier to land a short and wide lander than a long and skinny one, due to the lower center of mass in the shorter design.

Design a fuel pod:

These are the reason for designing a modular tug ship.  if the fuel source is replaceable, that means that excess weight can be removed when the pod is empty, or if a mission goes badly, the fuel pod can be jettisoned and left in orbit as a fuel source for the oncoming rescue mission.

Design a docking drone:

This drone will be extremely lightweight so that the RCS it holds will have extreme effect.  These are useful when a fuel pod has been
